A paired set of Tida nu Maasu (Sun Salt) and Tsuki nu Maasu (Moon Salt), inspired by the spiritual traditions of Kudaka Island.
On Kudaka Island, prayer continues to play an important role in daily life. One traditional phrase spoken at the beginning of prayer is “Utōto Ganashī Nunmē” — an expression honoring the gods of the sun and moon. Inspired by these sacred figures, the salts were named after the sun (Tida) and moon (Tsuki) in Okinawan dialect.
Both salts are created by crystallizing sacred seawater from the waters surrounding Kudaka Island using sunlight and traditional flat-pan methods.
Sun Salt (Tida nu Maasu) features a mellow flavor designed to gently enhance cooking and everyday dishes.
Moon Salt (Tsuki nu Maasu) is crafted to retain more of the seawater’s natural mineral components and can also be enjoyed as a bath salt for moments of relaxation and warmth.
