Nepali Silver Jewellery — Handcrafted Earrings, Studs & Pendants
Nepali silver work draws on a design vocabulary that sits between Tibetan Buddhist iconography and the Hindu motifs of the Kathmandu valley. The pieces on this page are handcrafted studio jewellery from NeNepal and a handful of other Kathmandu studios — each motif (Chandra Surya for sun and moon, Bhumi for earth, Sikka for the traditional coin pattern, Vajra for the thunderbolt of Vajrayana Buddhism) is drawn from that shared cultural vocabulary rather than imported fashion trends.
Sterling and fine silver, hand-soldered, hand-finished, small-batch. Direct-from-studio pricing, same-day hotel delivery inside Kathmandu.

Why this silver jewellery matters
Original Nepali designs
Chandra Surya, Bhumi, Parikrama, Vishwavajra — the motif names aren't marketing, they're the actual design system the studios work within. You're buying pieces built on a local design language, not fast-fashion jewellery stamped with generic symbols.
Hand-finished, every piece
Studio silver, not factory silver. Soldering, stone-setting, and polishing are done by hand in small Kathmandu workshops, which is why you'll see subtle variation between two pieces of the same design.
Sterling and fine silver
The catalogue runs 925 sterling silver and, for a few pieces, higher-purity fine silver. Each product page lists the silver grade so you know exactly what you're wearing.
Frequently asked questions about Nepali silver jewellery
What makes Nepali silver different from Tibetan or Indian silver?+
Nepali silver work borrows from both — Tibetan Buddhist iconography in motifs like the Vajra and lotus, Hindu Kathmandu-valley imagery in motifs like the Chandra Surya (sun-and-moon). Pieces tend to be more restrained than the heavy cuff-and-coral Tibetan style, and more iconographic than Rajasthani-style Indian silver. Think studio jewellery that wears like a quiet statement piece, not a tourist bangle.
What silver purity do you carry?+
Most pieces are 925 sterling silver (92.5% silver, balance copper for strength). A small number are higher-purity fine silver. Every product page specifies the grade on the listing. We don't carry silver-plated or German-silver pieces.
What do the NeNepal motif names mean?+
Chandra Surya = moon and sun, balance. Bhumi = earth. Sikka = the traditional square-edged coin of pre-modern Nepal. Parikrama = circumambulation, the ritual walk around a stupa. Vishwavajra = the double-vajra, a Vajrayana Buddhist symbol of indestructibility. Sukriti and Bibek are Sanskrit-derived names for virtue and discernment. The motifs aren't just decoration — they're part of the design system.
Are these pieces anti-tarnish?+
Sterling silver naturally develops a patina over time. Most of the pieces here are rhodium-finished to slow that, but long-term wear still benefits from a soft-cloth polish every few months. Each product page includes care instructions.
Can I return silver jewellery if the size is wrong?+
Earrings and studs that are sealed in original packaging can be exchanged for size within 7 days. Pendants and bracelets with adjustable chains generally don't need sizing. Contact Avendi support if a piece arrives in the wrong size or is damaged in transit.
