Brand Story

WE ARE...

marumi KIARA

A family-run botanical brand from Okinawa, built around gettou, the shell ginger plant that has been part of Ryukyuan life for generations. Since 1998, we’ve been turning this humble island plant into skincare and oral care that’s as rooted in tradition as it is in science.

Rooted in Ryukyuan Tradition

For marumiKIARA, gettou isn’t just an ingredient, it’s a living connection to Okinawa’s botanical heritage. We grow it from seed, harvest every part of the plant, and use a patented distillation method we developed ourselves to make sure nothing of its character is lost.

Grown and Made in Ogimi, Okinawa

Our farm and workshop sit in Ogimi Village, one of Okinawa’s most celebrated longevity communities, deep in the island’s verdant north. Everything is grown, processed, and crafted on-site by the people who know this plant best.

How shopping marumi KIARA on Avendi Local works

marumi KIARA is a verified maker based in Okinawa listed on Avendi Local, the managed marketplace for handmade and locally-produced goods. We do not act as a re-seller or a tourist-grade gift shop — every product on this page is fulfilled directly by marumi KIARA, at the same price you would pay on the maker's own channel, with Avendi Local acting as the merchant of record so you get a single, traceable order.

Before any maker is published on Avendi Local they pass our Avendi Authentic KYB process — we verify the legal entity behind the brand, confirm where the products are made, and check that pricing matches the maker's own retail. The badge on this profile means marumi KIARA cleared that review and remains in good standing. If the maker delists from Avendi Local for any reason, this profile is removed; nothing here is scraped or syndicated without permission.

Orders for marumi KIARA are paid through Avendi Local and fulfilled within Naha City — we deliver to any address inside the city, whether that's a hotel, an apartment, a residential home, or an office. The only condition is that the delivery address sits within Naha City; Avendi Local does not currently offer cross-city or international shipping. Returns and refunds are handled by Avendi Local, not by the individual maker, so you have a single point of contact for the entire order.

If you are buying marumi KIARA for the first time and need anything specific — gift wrapping, multi-product bundles, occasion-specific notes, or a delivery instruction for the hotel — add it to the Special Requests field at checkout and we will coordinate with the maker on your behalf.
