A handcrafted summer hat woven entirely by hand using leaves from the Okinawan coastal adan plant.
Known for their flexibility and natural structure, adan leaves create a lightweight, breathable hat with a beautifully textured woven finish unique to handcraftsmanship. Comfortable and airy, it is designed for warm weather and everyday wear.
The material carries a rich cultural history — in the 1910s, Okinawan woven hats made from adan leaves became so popular internationally that they were exported to Europe and the United States under the name “Ryukyu Panama.”
“MUSUBIKUBU 1.0” features a special ribbon crafted from Kumejima Tsumugi, a nationally designated Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan. Delicate 1.0mm strips of adan leaf are carefully handwoven to create an elegant and refined texture.
